- Your scan will be performed by a doctor who specializes in pregnancy ultrasound - a Fetal Medicine Consultant.
- We have the most experience with 3D/4D ultrasound in the North East.
- We will always tell you straight away if any problems are identified.
- Because we specialize in managing problems in pregnancy we can explain any implications and arrange the necessary
follow up at the same time.
- We use the state of-the-art Voulson E8 machines which have superceded the Voluson Expert systems

If there is a problem with my scan who will be there to discuss this with me?
If I'm having a 4D scan will you also be checking the baby's growth?
Will you provide a report of the scan for my hospital records?
If further scans are required who will arrange this?
If you cannot achieve views of the baby will I still be charged?

The Fetal Medicine Department has well established links with all of the NHS hospitals in the North East of England.
We DO NOT have any links with private ultrasound businesses offering scans without the back-up of a hospital setting.
